I love upgrade projects
They give me a chance to show off some of the cool new features of new Microsoft Office suite while throwing in some troubleshooting and handy hints along the way.
I've worked on a number of Upgrade/ Migration projects across the UK for clients big and small - and every organisation found that that the success of their projects ultimately depended on 3 key elements:
- How 'prepared' the end users felt before they were upgraded
- How 'Clear and Timely' the communications were
- How much time was spent showing users how the new version's interface had changed and what to expect
One of the greatest things about upgrade projects is that we are in a position to show users how their Office documents can be produced in less time, with a more professional finish and without the frustrating quirks that come with a self-taught understanding of how the Office Suite works.
It's an ideal opportunity to upskill in a subtle and less formal way, as well as a good time to recap the basics.
